The Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships
is a Pontifical Association of Christ's Faithful.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships, I welcome you to our HomePage. I hope you find these pages informative and helpful.

In December 1995, I received a letter from His Eminence, Cardinal Pironio, President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, confirming the acceptance of the Revised Statutes of the Fraternity and advising me of the final recognition of the Catholic Fraternity after an "ad experimentum" period of five years. This letter signifies a very historic moment in our development as a Fraternity while at the same time encourages us to the mission before us.

This HomePage is an attempt to chart our journey over these last five years and to make available to you some of the more formal documentation. What we cannot capture in this HomePage are the many years of commitment and searching out of a way forward by the founding communities who laboured both in prayer and action for the birth of the Catholic Fraternity. We also cannot capture the many charismatic leadings, the interventions of the Lord and the support of people like Archbishop Cordes who closely supported our journey. Even so, these documents tell a story which I hope you will find full of encouragement and challenge.

With the recognition of the Fraternity comes a responsibility to faithfully live out of that which we have committed ourselves to do. While one chapter may have closed on our journey, these are a lifetime full of chapters yet to be written by the men and women of the Fraternity in their faithful response of God both as individuals and as communities.

Communities must not forget to reflect and act on the living out of the aims and objectives of the Fraternity. As we do this, we will see a rich tapestry of people from many different nations and cultures making their own unique response to the Lord. The wonderful reality about being a Fraternity is that we do not act in isolation from each other but the actions of each community are an inspiration and an enrichment for the others. A faithful response to the aims and the objectives of the Fraternity cannot but make a significant impact on the Church universal.

I take this opportunity to thank you my brothers and sisters for your great support over these years and I look forward to moving on with you to all that the Lord would unfold before us.

If you have any questions, or require further information about the Catholic Fraternity, please do no hesistate to contact me at the The Catholic Fraternity Communications Centre.

Your brother in the Lord,

Brian Smith
President of the Catholic Fraternity
